| Description: | An increasing array of transnational challenges - from WMD proliferation and the global drug trade, to contemporary human slavery, small arms trafficking, and counterfeit intellectual property - have become so widespread they threaten to overwhelm the capabilities of even well-intentioned governments to mitigate their destructive effects. The Managing Across Boundaries program looks for innovative government responses - at the national, regional, and international levels - and for smart public-private partnerships to mitigate these threats.
This position is designed to independently conduct and implement significant components of research and / or advocacy project.

| Duties: | •Develop and initiate significant components of research and / or advocacy projects of assigned areas in national and international security that will expand knowledge, advance debate and impact policy.
•Construct original research and written materials including occasional papers, reports, and issue briefs to disseminate research findings.
•Coordinate Senior Level task force with specific business leaders.
•Network with relevant individuals and institutions, fostering the exchange of ideas and building issue consensus; act as liaison on project committees, media, and other external audiences
•Develop and consistently expand knowledge of project focus and defined area of study
•Proofread and copy-edit project publications

| Qualifications: | Advanced degree in relevant field with at least 4 years of experience related to the position. Experience in the private sector or having collaborated with industry is an advantage. Advanced networking skills and broad knowledge of both trafficking flows and the role of industry in preventing the spread of dangerous technologies to states and non-state actors is desirable. |
